Would you read a story about a magic worlds analog of the Russian Civil war, but from the Makhnovshchina perspective?

This would be the prequel to a series, the magic system is less DnD and more Call of Cthulhu meets Nen. An example is binding your self, either physically or spiritually, with an object to take on some of its characteristics. Like binding with a blade to get its flexibility and sharpness, but losing the ability to touch something without cutting it. The story would start with a girls great grandmother telling her about how she met her wife, before flash-backing into her story. The story is still pretty early in its plotting, but the events will be similar to real life. Here is a potential cover, although it is very likely to change.

For something like this, it's at the level where it's all about implementation.

You've described the setting and the world building (magic system,) but very little about the plot or focus characters. I will say though, it does sound like a very workable setting depending on those other factors. Just knowing what you've said already, I wouldn't be opposed to reading it.

Considering, from reading that wiki article, the Makhnos fell into the trap, that many anarcho-communists and libertarian socialists did, of allying with the bolsheviks only to get yeeted by them when they ceased to be useful, all while fighting every man and his dog... i cant see how interesting that would be unless you embraced the alt-history potential the 'magical worlds' style could bring.

If you stuck straight to history, just with magic, then knowing they're going to be yeeted no matter what, i cant say that'd be interesting enough to read.

It should be noted that the anarchists had the same goal in mind as the Bolsheviks lol. Both of them are Liberal Enlightenment ideologies that see the ultimate destiny as man as liberation from his natural state, despite its unattainability and dystopianism. Also Capitalism falls into this too lol.

Try to bait the Readers with either "Transmigration-To-Isekai" (we like to self insert), "LitRPG", and also fanservice with Nekomimi maid and some amount of Ecchi Softcore.

And put some GL/BL stuff in the sidelines to support those LGHDTV+ activist. In xianxia term, we need to give face to those strong group.

Well, this advice is applied to pretty much any new writer that want to gain traction without too much plot investment.

I would say more bitter sweet than bleak, but their loss does turn it even bleaker.

Rather unclear, but I can see it now.
Idk how the fuck the granma manage to make grandchildren without male partner, but maybe in future it's possible to add someone as "grandson" like how it's easy to add "friend" in Facebook.

But it kinda nice to see some world building of how the world turn out after LGBT already widespread in the world and what kind of common mundane problems would come after those multigendrr stuff became common.

And also the government program to solve those problem and the intricate process of going to the right government office also would make as nice world building.

we can't really expect those freedom and stuff would just make the world better without any potential problem.
