Why is reading progress not recorded

why does the website not auto record my reading progress?
I have to actually physically write a note to record my current story and chapter each time.
Its very annoying.

Because the site wants you to put it in your reading list, it tracks it when its in there and you can have all of the stories you are reading nicely grouped up.

It should be, unless you mean automatically without any clicking. You have to click the bookmark button somewhere on the top or bottom of each chapter, manually. That is how it tracks the progress.

That function exists for anything on your reading list, but you have to turn it on if you want to use it.
The option is in the settings menu on the reading list pge.
