If two people are having a discussion about Skyrim and it has nothing to do with the chapter or the novel, and it goes on for 200 comments going back and forth, does that count as 2 or 200?

If you only have one chapter total, and that chapter has 200 comments back and forth, I think it counts.

If you have more than three chapters total though, then we can rule it an outlier, and you'll have to use the "per chapter" in the question, and either exclude it, or take an average.

Average novel probably gets between 0 to 5 comments, so anyone above that is likely doing well in the activity sector.

It is very story-dependent so it varies greatly between chapters. The above one is still a fairly new story as comments tend to pick up after there are enough chapters to munch through.
