Heck even a chinese ff about "multi-worlds livestreaming heroes/villains", once cameo it. Light was TOP4 place, and after that, Light picked the reward to directly skip the plot and become (ugly like others) shinigami -> sat aside, and began to write fast without feelings, ignore Ryuk.

Hikaru no go
(Kinda famous for Chinese otakus. Always see it in cameos when the MC is an anime-creator)
He lost the ghost-guy near the end.
For XX chaps he miss him, but after doing a match again and re-doing same move(s) as the ghost-guy,
series end with : Oh you were always with me / live on in me [cliche]
where MC turns the page on the "disappearance" of him.
tldr : Male-cortana-ghost dies, mc sad.

---------If a tourist/new-fan/genZAlpha and/or reading Boruto (dont pitchfork me). Then yes, Naruto has a "shit after ending" : he got a shitty kid, his wife lost boobs (lol) (and fans joke a dark theory she died in PAIN arc and she is a clone), kurama die later, he is overworked, and a fuking alien race (ancestors of byakugan) want to destroy humans race, coming from space, and they are fking mega giga unbalanced with abused eyes, and somehow only-his-son seems to be a good counter.

But offscreen/offgame. Summarized by fans from the details/facts : Girl-Heroine will die soon from lack of "special medicine" (plot). MC will likely die alone (lack of food/water), likely in despair while plagued by the thought he caused her death by "freeing her" (and remembering the encounters and deaths of all the sidecharacters in the game). And humanity will come to an extinction without being saved from "thoughts/ghosts" state.

Just reading the spoiler/explaining of the plot (well detailed, as it was still in era of internet people helping each other or caring to do well the WIKIs)

I was crying nonstop for some plots.

From "more tears" to "less tears"

1) The "talking-robot-bag"
(despite very short appearance in the game, your heart fking break into millions pieces. And now my tears gland are for some reason working while writing this)

2) The "wandering merchant"
(despite the dude is like a NPC without importance, and no closeness at all, but his backstory hit like a truck and not even needing 200 paragraphs but just 3-4 actions+voicelines [if you spy on him])

3) The floating ghost girl
("girl next door" type. Now i think about it. The type of characters are no longer done)

4) The hotel ghost girl

Back to the terrible endings of young boy protagonists: Every MC whose series got a sequel. Or the ones that got hit with a reset ending.

For games: the MC from Shadow of the Colossus got a pretty terrible deal, but that was pretty much the whole point of the game, anybody who doesn't smell the ensuring tragedy solar systems away should get their head checked.

The ending of Trails in the Sky was the worst thing that could happen to you as a player when it was first released

bc :

1) Dude was overworked to 'death' for naruto (euphemism but true but like very tired/his body is damaged from lackofsleep/mental/stress etc)

2) Dude is rich as heck now
3) Dude bc of overwork, lost precious time with his family, hence now is doing just that

4.5) There is a very old pilot art where he basically wanted to do Naruto as a furry/son of dead kyuubi btw. Not a joke. Lazy to find it back and its a pain to find it. The editor that blocked this idea is a unsung hero. (Also its why there is the weird plothole begin of Naruto being bullied in childhood despite son of prev Hokage -> idea invented later)

5) With boruto, he also is doing a huge dark humor caricature mockery of "middle age"

Bonus : Kishimoto wanted to end his manga earlier but company forced him to continue, and so he wrote the later part, same later-part going BONKERS with powerlvls, that btw doesnt need any combination of ninja-handgestures lol.
