Basically I have hit a wall in my outlining for a new story. I spent too much time on the power system and now I have a couple of conflicting ideas for which direction it should go. I am just spitballing some ideas, and wish to see which is more interesting… but first what I have so far:

Terry is a college student who gets easily lost in thought. Because an Alchemist opens a portal to another plane, a semi hits T after being thrown through a building by a tornado, he finds himself bound to a book. Or at the very least his soul is. This will be a an isekai about Soulbinding.

Very simply, Soulbinding is where someone uses a soul to bind two or more things together. The applications are pretty numerous, but here are a few examples:
Creating a contact that is bound to the soul.
Binding your soul to a god for something else.
Binding an amulet(or something magical) to your soul.
Cursing someone.
Creating a phylactery.
Etc.

Now here are the potential options and how I rate them:

1) Terry becomes a grimoire that bewitches those who read him. This will be a somewhat episodic story where we see the lives of those who own the book. Something similar to Paranoia Agent, or Trafford’s Trading Club. (3/5)

2) Terry is reborn/takes over a body, in world similar to ours, but with gods and magic. He is forced to become a Soulbinder, because his soul is unraveling. In this he would search for magic items, ghosts, and creatures to fix it. Which would put him in conflict with the citizens of this world. Similar to Lord of the Mysteries in a world similar to Darker than Black. (4/5)

3) 2 but in a different setting. (?/5)

4) His soul is bound to an inter-planer store. Basically just one, but the MC has more autonomy in the story. (3/5)

5) 2, but he becomes a wandering exorcist to keep his soul from unraveling. (4/5)

6) He is reborn like in a standard isekai. Lit-rpg, still going to be a Soulbinder. (3/5)

7) 6 but with a dungeon core. (2/5)

8) Stone Age/Early Agricultural(?) survival in a magic world. Magic beasts and many other ethereal things prowl the earth. Luckily Terry’s soul was bound to a grimoire that allows him to learn Soulbinding. He creates a small group that goes on adventures. (3/5)

9) 8 but slice of life. (4/5)

10) 8 but kingdom building. (4/5)

Stone age sounds fun. I've been meaning to do a neolithic series, but with dinosaurs and monsters.

All of those ideas are pretty interesting, but one thing I'd like to say is to ask yourself a question if that's supposed to have any sort of romance. I'm going to assume it's not because you didn't mention it, but that answer would change a lot.
In relation to a thread I read a while ago, you should also think what would be unique in each of those settings apart from the mc. Because with what you provided, if you ask me what's more interesting, I can only say it's 1, 8, or 2 and its variations, because they are just big unknowns. There is nothing in any of those options that would really catch my attention.
Though I'd avoid 7, 9, and 10, because they have a huge risk of turning into something incredibly stretched out and boring.

I like the ones where he has to find a way to prevent his soul from unraveling. Interesting.
