What role would you take in a movie/series adaptation of your story.

If "Director" was unavailable, I'd prefer "Consultant" - advise the writer(s), director(s) and producer(s) but ultimately only provide advice, but no real "power" beyond that - and maybe do a walk on role for a scene.

but I'd hate it if a character I created is misrepresented , so unless they want to alter the story, I'll be there to haunt them

I would demand full control over casting. If they don't look like my characters, than they are rejected. No swapping-nonsense.

I'd also demand final say on the script. If I see changes that alter my work in a way I'm not comfortable with, they would be edited until acceptable. That, or removed altogether.

I would DEFINITELY have a lawyer present to help enforce all of this because the people in movie production companies are slimy as hell.

But yeah, knowing how the industry is today. Makes it a bit difficult to decide if you want to go through with it if you do get the opportunity.

Agreed. If I ever decide to break into an animated medium, I'd probably go a similar route to Vivziepop (Hazbin hotel). Make a pilot with some friends, hope to get an offer from a big company. I'd likely decline disney merely on the basis that it's disney.
