1-5 depending on the dynamic but I guess 2 is the requirement for a harem so 2-5 depending I guess. Though I prefer monogamy.

IRL, I had 5 at one point, but that was before I had a kid. Now, I can barely manage 2. It might be different if the second one was actually living with us and helping out around the house, but we haven't gotten to that stage of the relationship yet.

Unless the main character isn't the harem owner. That light novel where a girl gets abducted into the emperor's harem and proceeds to make herself seem less appealing on purpose is interesting.
