We need to talk

You may have noticed that a number of RR threads have been popping up now and then—often related to moderation and censorship—and while that may be the case, I think we need to have good discussion about this platform itself. Indeed, there is a trend going on, something sinister, and the conversation is one that I am afraid we can't escape any longer.

Less than 24 hours ago, a thread was locked for reasons related to politics. If you count similar reasons, throughout the whole year the number has long since reached double digits. Scribble Hub has been censoring people. Scribble Hub has infringed on free speech, you and ours. It has continued to, right in the open and loud, and nobody said anything. Certain ideas and exchanges are silenced, locked before they can come to fruition. What did Jordan Peterson say about free speech?

"Freedom of speech is not just another principle; it is the mechanism by which we keep our psyches and our societies organized, and we have to be unbelievably careful about infringing upon that because we are infringing upon the process by which we keep chaos and order balanced, and if chaos and order go out of balance, then all hell breaks loose, and the situation is not good."

The situation is obviously not good. In this era when the right to ownership is in grave danger, speech is the only thing we truly own; they know that our voices have power, and they are afraid of it. The elites want to control what we can and can't say, and thus by extension control our whole being. And what's worse, members of certain backgrounds, behaviors, and belief structures have been disproportionately affected by the targeting. Not only that, there have been forces alongside, seeking to regulate and conform—you may have noticed them in the comments of those marginalized groups.

So at the end, I am requesting you all to let your voices be heard. Ask Tony. Ask whatever question you have. Don't be afraid. After all, great things can come, despite the small size of the community.

Yes, the entire post is satire, you idiot.

You know, I think most of those threads got closed because they could/already became a toxic pit.

I was gonna say that the woke thread probs went against the rules which is political talk.

But considering there are lotsa random posts here everyday and I'm not really one to talk either, I decided to forget about it.

Okay, I'm freaking tired, I'm still ill, so if I misunderstood something, missed something, or am a retard, it's all on me. Now it is serious answer time.

Rules of a site owned by an individual doesn't infringe on your free speech. Free speech isn't you can say whatever you want whenever you want, wherever you want. Freedom of speech = you won't get to jail even if you say the wildest shit. There are obviously certain things people invented to go around this, but generally it is what it is. If you say Trump is a retard while you are in murica, you won't get to jail. This is freedom of speech.

There are also exceptions with sites that are BIG. We know what sites those are, but it's a different topic. SH and Tony has no reason to let you say whatever you want. And even if I disagree with it, it is what it is. As long as those rules are applied fairly and consistently(they are) there is no reason to whine.

Now that I said the most obvious thing, I only hope that I wasn't acoustic and understood everything correctly.

TLDR: Gaslighting us into collectively trigger a mass banning ritual.

SHF doesn't have a toxicity problem. Past cases are nothing like Twitter or reddit. And even if we reach the point, we should have a cool down period; perhaps talk to them personally, instead of just locking everything down. That's censorship.

You're free to DM about politics on SHF. You're just not free to publicly post about it because such topics invites trolls. Politics especially.
Tony locks threads, but he doesn't ban the people who post in them. He might ban the person starting the threads over and over, but you can get your political posts into those threads before it's locked.

SHF is interesting.
There is free speech, just not free platform.

If I wanted to start a thread titled "Bring back the Romanovs" on a forum about web novels it begs the question about relevance.

Yeah, communism didn't work, and whatever is going on in russia right now might not be work.

But is scribblehub the right place to discuss this? I mean... unless I'm writing an alternated history story where Rasputin overthrows the government (Turns out he wasn't dead after all!) and brings back the monarchy. . . and needed ideas... but anyway.

You know we have had threads on different economic and political systems in fictional settings and they weren't locked the only ones that get locked are the ones about real world politics. Honestly the real-world ones always end up turning into shit flinging contests so I really don't blame Tony for banning them.

The only way to stop the censorship is to stop the ones reporting for it.
How do we do that? By releasing them into my hoard instead. Yes, I will take care of them.
So that means @Reinaislost is going in next.
Welcome to the hoard, Reinarunarunrun.
