I only recently made a SH account, but I've been seeing AI get bashed in the forums, and that got me interested.

Why not put in the first chapter of my backlog draft into ZeroGPT and see how unoriginal my prose is?

Turns out, I've put enough emotion(schizophrenia) in my descriptions that I'm unbearably Human! Yippee!

I'm afraid to test mine. Strange Awakening might slip through with a low percentage but the others? Even though the only AI I use (other than half my covers) is basic spell and grammar checking, my personal style is closer to AI than I like to believe...

What's really bothersome is that I've put in the same section of Sylvie 4 times and 3 times it gave 0% without any highlights and the 4th time 1% with exactly 2 sentences that it claims are AI.

So in short, screw that.
I wrote every word of my books, so that program can eat lead paint chips.

At what percentage would you actually trust ZeroGPT? I mean I've seen a few at 5% some at 11% and recently one at over 80%.
What metric do you all trust after looking at the result?

I would say if it gets over 60% on one checker or over 30% on more than one (note that sometimes checking the same passage with the same checker after either waiting a while or checking other passages before coming back reveals a variance of up to 3%, that I've seen, possibly more, so there is some room for error) then there's a problem. Below that, it COULD be just the writer's style, or the editor they used.

Rick Riordan influenced my writing style a lot, so if I put my writing, it gives me a high percentage.

Luckily readers can tell. My strengths lie in character, details, and consistency, but my pacing and rhythm is trash. I'm bad with grammar too (never formally learned English literature). It's the opposite of stuff made with AI.

I can see that. I mean I've seen a couple at 10-12% but I'm thinking that's more of an editing thing over an actual AI writing it. The few that I've seen below 10% I don't even consider.

I think you could flip a coin and be just as accurate as these things at predicting whether or not something is AI.
