Utah has mormons, Mitt Romney, mountains and more Mormons
BLM like the group or the bureau of land managementMy family got lost on BLM land for nearly a month in Utah. It was fun. My brother rode his dirt bike for miles around the dessert and dunes.
Mormons are weird but they are good peopleI lived in Ccolorado for over a decade after college, so right next door. Utah has some of the most beautiful national parks. Arches by Moab is great. Protip- go in late fall/winter when it's cooler and less tourists.
If you can, come into Moab along 128 which runs along the Colorado River, it has some awesome views. It's even better if after a heavy rain as there will be dozens of waterfalls off the cliffs that don't exist at any other time.
If coming in from Colorado on I-70, make sure to grab gas in Grand Junction and Green River as gas stations are few and far betweenand I know people who ran out of gas and had to flag down someone (pulling an RV and fighting wind and elevation).
The rest of the state..... yeah. Hard pass. The interstate corridor between Provo and Ogden is over 100 miles of hell. Horrible traffic and drivers, and it's so built up along the freeway that it never let's up.
Regarding the people. If you are not Mormon, you will have employers who won't hire you, you will be passed over for promotions, ect. I have known a few construction contractors who left as even if they had the best bids/offers, they would be passed over for people who were members of the church... could you try to sue for discrimination? Sure, but good luck proving it.
