Interesting to see this specify "from that old TV series." Because, after thinking about it for a bit, I first heard about the three stooges from my parents talking about them, and from old re-run episodes of Scooby-Doo on Cartoon Network. It was considered very old when I'd heard about them, and it was only these references back to them that let me know about their existence.

These days, now even the cultural references to them are before the time of a lot of the younger generation. So, they might actually need to be pointed in the right direction before even knowing who they are.

There was a movie about six years ago that kind of sort of followed their history (it was not very good but did have some very "Stooge-like" comedy moments), and I know our market is not the only one but there may not be many others, where one of the local channels has a Three Stooges marathon the weekends surrounding New Years (generally starting on Friday night and ending Sunday morning) so they are still getting air time, perhaps even more than the (in my opinion, more deserving) Marx Brothers.
