The scale of time in fantasy stories

Depends on which aspect of fantasy we are speaking of. If the ancient civilization in question had lifeforms that lived for longer, then I wouldn't be surprised by their kingdoms existing for longer. I see the point, but it doesn't bother me too much personally unless the fact plays a major role in the plot.

Another way I dislike how people use time is for injuries. Like, the author doesn't know how to write the mc getting injured to they just make mc unconscious and however long the person is unconscious for is proportional to the injury severity.

A day? a bad injury.

Three days? Oh thats terrible.

Then at the end of the story they make MC go unconscious for three months just to try and make it seem really bad, but It's nothing except lousy writing >.<
