The photos in my Story disappear after a while - what am I doing wrong?

I'd advise creating an account on a hosting platform dedicated to images, like IMGBB.com.
You can host them there and keep them forever. Nothing happens to them either, if you link them here.

That happens when imgur gives you a page link instead of the direct image file link. For embeds, you usually need the direct image url ending in something like .jpg
Try to open image in new tab, copy link and make sure the url you get is i.imgur.com and not just imgur.com

The Discord link is temp. I think it deletes itself within 24 hrs.

Oh, right, what @Makimaam said is true for IMGBB as well. You always have to use the image link.
An image link will always end with the data type - ".png", ".jpg" or ".gif"; something like that.

Apparently, an image with no nudity didn´t fit the rules of imgur, so I´ve tried my Patreon instead - And it works!!

Technically, inappropriateness is a flexible term - there are certainly cases in which this can be deemed inappropriate. But if I just upload an image, I don't know why the hosting platform interferes like that. It just feels weird. Like Visa taking the stand that they are allowed to decide where you spend your money.

I mean, they could/should get in trouble for hosting stuff like cp, right? So I get, that theres like a mechanism to prevent that. It just feels so random. Other pics like that haven’t been a problem.

You say that, but most real problematic people aren't actually that braindead. When they do their business out in the open, they do it in a way their checks still don't catch onto. And it's obvious that's an excuse, when something that's clearly not illegal is being stopped as well.

It doesn't get deleted, but there is a randomized cryptographic signature required to access them that is rerolled every 3 days.

Yep, I was using it before. They have a timer code in the link that way if anyone posts your content, it will expire. All of the end links have something like this: token-time=1779494400
