Maybe more like the media portrayal of China than actual. Been living here for about a decade and I feel like I've got more freedom than back home.

I mean as in survellance and governemental control and stuff. I studied there for a few years—and yes, China just lives like any other country, but it's in the little things that makes me feel oppressed.

I think yes. Take Prince Harry for example. He's both a Prince and a Duke and is referred to as both by official documents.
