Tired of all of these systems invading and offering grand rewards for seemingly little effort?

Most systems are in fact parasites; they buff their host, but only to use them as their personal transportation while draining the life from everyone nearby. This is also why so many system holders end up with harems: by making them seem attractive with a little mental influence, they can get plenty of people to dine on.
Our main character has a different opinion, though: he/she calls them lunch.

They actively go hunt for people with systems and devour the system itself, leaving the system holder alive, but weaker than before they got the system.

Could be interesting. I’d put forth the suggestion that there might be different breeds of the parasite. The System is only one common symptom.
Several breeds will also drastically alter the personality of the host, giving false memories of either another world or a potential dark future. Generally these visions do include some useful information, though it may be incomplete or misleading.

If the system belongs to a baker will it taste like fresh cookies? Seems like that would prime reason to go chomping systems.
