So imagine :

Two figures in the darkness of the night, resting their hands on some handrailings of a spot a little far from the nearest city.
These two happen to be interested at each other, one notably being younger than the other. And so, he thought that it'd be prudent if he were to hold the hand of the one he's enjoying the sceneries with.
The girl, whose years older than him, thought of it as him signaling to get home on her bike, but gets to see the stares of this boy he always plays whenever she's visiting him, as mesmerizing and determined. Something sparked within her, as she keeps looking at his eyes and loses the sense of time within the solace of the star-filled sky.

As he let go of his hand, she reaches out and not wanting to let go, as he now gets to feel like his feelings might just reach out to her after all this time of just being playmates. He just stays there, sending her a smile, and turn to see the stars while imagining how it'd be if he were to convey what he feels as of now.
He feels scared of being hurt, as he knows that it is not time to say it directly, and trembles when he pictures out the scene of them being distant, yet still he smiles through the moment.

Nevertheless, the girl now know what he feels for her, but still kept silent of it. She clenches her grip on his, as she nods with a grin, only for him to see.
Now being acknowledged, he widens his eyes, before sighing out the weight he used to carry from the moment he feels this sting in his heart, and finally get to express his grin, only for her to see.

As they confirm each other's feeling in their own head, they now feel some kind of warmth of which they never felt before, and stays there for a bit longer, looking upwards towards the sky.

What'll happen after, is left for anyone's guess…

If only we get to see more of these in romance novels.

Quiet, Proper Romance in Anime-like novels is something that I don't often see in medias. Usually goes from flirting, or seductions, to outright 'accidents' that'd make the audience, most frequently, only feel second-hand embarrassment rather than the feelings the Creators want to convey.

Kisses, Hugs or in this case that is the lewdest of them all, Handholding, is always and I mean, ALWAYS interrupted by some misfortune that comes across their own moments.
Why can't we enjoy them without being Interrupted Every time either the Male or Female Lead(s) want to convey their feelings for each other? And don't you even start on having the other side only getting it as them 'Being Playful' with them, having the point of the emotions just swayed to the sides, and goes on to 'Being Friends' like they 'Always Do'.

So, what are your thoughts on most Romance moments you get to come across along your reading journey? And do you think that this genre is butchered to death, because Authors want to do these just because for laughs and giggles and/or wish-fulfillment?

An interrupted kiss is basically a cliffhanger to keep people interested in the story. It's lazy writing in my opinion, just pulling something out from a bag of tropes.

My opinion is that the romance genre has become a little bit... how can I say it? ... extreme. Whether the story goes to one extreme or the other. You either get nothing (as in your example; not even a kiss on the cheek), or you get too much (they do it whenever they can in the most bizarre and unnatural positions that have ever existed). Other stories are close to these extremes regarding the 'romantic' scenes and moments. At least, this is what I saw (or experienced) until now regarding the new, contemporaneous books, movies, animes, and so on.

Yes, I like to see a story that has everything. From the first time holding hands to the first time making love. And I don't really care if the intimate relationship comes first or last. I want to see their feelings grow and bloom. I want to read, see, or feel those amazing and sensitive romantic moments that lead to deep love. I'm all for deep love. That kind of love that's making you feel it in your veins, that's all over your mind. I have one romance book in my native language that I love so much. It was a scene there where they made love (it wasn't the first time), and after they stayed in each other's embrace, the woman just kissed him and bit his lip hard at the end of the kiss, making him bleed. He was indeed astonished by this, not knowing what was wrong with her, but then she said something like: "I want to get into your blood. Can you understand?" So, yeah. Deep love.

As for why the two are always interrupted by some misfortune: Well, think about it. You keep watching or reading such a story (that always delays the big, relevant, and important romantic moments that would improve the love relationship between the two) for mainly two reasons:
1. Either it frustrates you that they couldn't have that moment and keep watching/ reading just because you want to see when would they be able to have that moment;
2. Or the other things that are going on besides the love story are intriguing. So, you keep watching/ reading because you want to see what will happen next.

+ it adds tension and suspense and is somewhat of a plot twist kind of situation.

Also, keep in mind that those characters have, somehow, the courage to let themselves trust that person completely. In real life, however, we can't possibly know who we can trust. There is a saying: "You can't get to know a person even after 20 years." So, I may be all for deep love, deep feelings, and deep romantic moments, but in real life, I am quite cold when it comes to all of these. I want to feel it, but I put my logic and reason first. What does this have to do with anything? Well, there are plenty of other people like me. And some of them even just stop watching or reading these kinds of plots. Because they think that it can never happen to them, and it's making them sad. And there's nothing wrong with not being a fan of this kind of plot.

Quiet, Proper Romance in Anime-like novels is something that I don't often see in medias. Usually goes from flirting, or seductions, to outright 'accidents' that'd make the audience, most frequently, only feel second-hand embarrassment rather than the feelings the Creators want to convey.

About this. In my opinion, this is something that concerns only the author and his or her writing skills. Also, this is about your own preference. Also, some people just can't relate to certain things. For example, in real life, I don't see too many people blushing when they feel flattered or embarrassed in a romantic moment. But in animes and books, it happens.

Because that is where a romance story ends?

It's the same question as "why can't two people who love each other can just live without drama in western soap operas".
A romance story ends with the moment the lovers become an actual item. That's the reason your big first kiss or the big "get back together" are the climax of the story. It works really well in your classical movies.
For serialization, you have the problem that you have to prolong that same story to double the runtime or more. Which means - interrupt them.

Outside of that, the bigger problem is also, that anime especially has a maximum amount of development. Meaning, sexual relationships can't be added in detail as it will put limitations on the target audience and sales. A lot of long-running series suffer under that because the pair can't just take the next step at the appropriate time.

There are also some developments in publishing based on story theory, that more and more pushed the romance itself to the background as sub-genre. This allows the romance to climax a lot earlier, but often requires both a more seasoned writer and more mature themes over all. Both requirements that don't mix well with "anime-like novels". Though even then I could think of a handful of stories where you had such scenes/developments...

So yeah, the short answer is: romance novels aren't allowed to show it, most other stories don't bother showing it.
