I wanted to write a lore-rich, worldbuilding-heavy sci-fi story involving (space) naval strategy and a futuristic military academy, but when I actually started, I realized I wasn't anywhere near good enough to write this thing without it being boring as hell. Maybe I'll revisit it five years down the line.

Ugh, how cringe are they? Very.

But I am working to remove the cringe-ness and deliver proper story without getting mad at the world.

this why yall's time period had all the infamous serial killers n shit.
Nah,
That is just when Criminal Science and Communication technology advanced enough they started being able to catch most of them. Those who were prone to fall into that particular bad habit started wising up by 2000.
It is kind of like the increase in teachers banging students getting caught in the past decade; especially the female ones. It is not that there are really anymore of them, than in the past, it is just that they are getting caught easier and sooner. The same technology that is dropping barriers for them to make it easier to connect to students outside of the class room is also leading them to get caught more often. Harder to lie or deflect as the student is "troubled" when they have you on video, phone records and texts.
