Hello, if you're like me, you have ADHD, OCD, Dyslexia, etc. And scheduling chapters is a nightmare in a half.

The solution? Well, it isn't perfect, but it will save you hours upon hours of work. My new workflow for novels is as follows.

Write a chapter>Edit it>Save chapter as draft on RoyalRoad as the scheduling system is fast to game>Schedule the chapter on Scribblehub>Put the date far ahead of how long it will take you to finish writing the novel>Done.

For example, for my current novel, I set the dates to be 12/01/2024, 12 AM. (I plan to release chapters daily for it at 12AM.) When I finish this novel, it will be very easy to schedule each chapter. As I had saved myself many clicks, I only have to edit a few parts of it and then schedule the chapter for real.

Anyway, this is the fastest and most efficient method that I've figured out for this site. If you have any other tips, then please do reply with them. Other than this workflow, the only other way to speed up the process would be writing a script to do it for you. (PS: This workflow works the best if you plan to write an entire novel first before releasing a single chapter, like me.)

Every three days at 12:01 am.
It has the best analytics for cost to benefit ratio.

Every days!?

I gotta start writing shorter chapters!

Things that I've written:

Just Another Isekai With A Long Title That Explains The Plot
It starts at the beginning of the day local time, giving it the most possible time for it to make a difference to the analyitics. It has it's best views the first day, then it can still have some good views when people who are regulars catch up the next day. Day three is still a drop-off, but it doesn't QUITE reach baseline.

Every four days gives you baseline on day four, so that's a waste.
Every day is great, but I find it's a bit too much for readers. They seem to like SOME delay and you actually LOSE views that you would get otherwise. Furthermore, writing every day is rather stressful as an author, so it's a pain in the ass.

Every two days is better than every day, but you are still losing a little bit from not going to day three. Not much, almost negligible, So you could go with every other day, but I was doing three different stories at the time and found that if I just cycled with one chapter per day in round-robin fashion, it worked out best.

Now, you could go, 2 days, 3 days, 2 days, so it's three chapters a week, but the fact is, it won't rotate. By having it every three days, you will hit every day of the week eventually, which helps in reaching new people who only read certain days of the week. If you go 2,3,2, you will always release on the same day every week, which has the advantage of people knowing when you will release, but random reinforcement is proven to encourage more views.

Ideally, I'd roll a 1d6 and divide by 2 then add one. so you randomly post every 2,3, or 4 days, thus causing people to check more often in hopes of a new chapter, but that's a pain in the ass, so I just do it every three days.

It's a compromise, but there is no ideal solution.
