This is a collection of essays, I found, on the Medieval Period. Seeing as most fantasy lands are stuck there, you might find them useful:
https://www.engr.psu.edu/mtah/essays.htm
And this is another interesting essay, if not well formatted:

Do you guys know of a site with papers on Medieval improvement? Would be nice if you'd share them. That way, we can end up with better researched stories.

Before the industrial revolution: European society and economy, 1000-1700

Cipolla, Carlo M

A more in-depth book about the Middle Ages.

I read books in the historical and archaeological fields on these matters. If you want, I can list some books that helped me with a lot of information about many areas of life during that period.

You can list them, if you'd like. I don't need to do any research for a book, but it could be useful.

What I have always found really fascinating was that during that period the various powers were colonizing Europe in those days and pretty much had it down to a science. It was a way to extend their power bases into their own and other lands. Biggest resource they needed though was humans.

A wonderful resource, thank you for sharing.

I use a lot of 'The medievalist' and sometimes youtube channels or documentaries.

One major difficulty I have when researching my world-building though is that most of my search results and resources are based on "English" sources, my main language. This means a lot of UK area technology for the time periods. Not bad, just not exactly what I'm looking for at the moment (Italian, around years 1000s-1300s). The technology gap and resources varied greatly depending on the region and year.
Those closer to the Mediterranean sea with more trade and back and forth with the Ottomans/Byzantine/rest of the old world had a very different experience than say for Western Europe. It's a chart I'm still working on.

Sometimes I find well-documented Spanish translateable sources or subbed documentaries I can translate. They tend to have a cool 'southern Europe perspective and a lot of rural areas that preserve older traditional technology that very well could have been used in the time periods.
