Question blind protagonist

I have a question. Do any of you — readers or writers — know of any stories that portray a blind individual in a realistic way, without the common tropes? You know, things like having better-than-normal hearing, feeling faces, and all that stuff. I have an idea for a character who is a manager, and I'm trying to steer away from tropes that aren't realistic for blind people — or if he does have certain traits, I want them to be explainable and grounded.

Know I read one a few years ago but the only one I can think of offhand is the stage play "Dial M For Murder." The blind woman protagonist in that seemed fairly well handled. At least from what an almost 40 year old memory of it tells me. Much more realistic than the other blind protagonists I know (Zatoichi, Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Anthony Quinn/The Black Bat), at least.

I wish the CN authors that write crippled MCs.
Stop fucking writing them finding them a way to cure their ailment.
I mean, if you enter a story with a blind MC, you came for the blindness, and NOT for the Nth unremarkable MC.
But oh, MC goal is to cure Z Y thing that they have. (oh come on!!!)
I can understand for eunuchs MCs but for other stuff, its like a one trick to attract readers.

I often want to do the -think-mark- meme to them.
Like, what the fuck is wrong with their brains????? Dont you understand the basic logic that its what the readers want???? (not just this topic but bunch of other stuffs in CNs, like killing too fast the enemy, etc)

Red Dragon (Silence of the Lambs prequel) has a major character be a blind scientist(?) who doesn't have any real advantages because of it. Same for Dea in The Man Who Laughs. Both of which have movie adaptations too, but the books are worth reading on their own.

There are varying degrees of blindness.
What degree are you asking about?
And under what conditions was said character blind?

The "tropes" you mentioned are realistic, and reasonable, in most cases.
When one sense fails, the others often sharpen over time to compensate (not to superhero-levels like Daredevil).

Touch and Hearing are the most typical in portrayals I've seen, but Smell and Taste shouldn't be excluded.

Red Dragon does feature a blind character quite well, but the tropes you mentioned are shown as well.
I can't think of any others off the top of my head right now though.
