Who told you that sharing links to a Google Doc was better than just posting it to the site that's literally made for uploading and sharing stories?
I don't know, maybe it's because it's not a confirmed release but a “sample” post for them to get to know the product before launching it? Do you think so?

Don't publish it on drive unless you want others to collaborate on it!
Publishing on a site like this or RR has many benefits, most importantly is the publish date that can be verified in case someone stole your work. Adding to that the many readers comments that would be very helpful!
The only exception is if you plan to do some exclusive or a contest that had first publish clause...
And good luck with the urban novel thing, it is far harder than you think it is!

Drive is for people to read it and comment on X section they liked it, plan to delete it when I have the volume completed.
Why difficult? For me the hard part is to put the harem in the 21st century but I've already found the perfect excuse.
Eh, I guess I thought it would be more...interesting? With a more likeable protagonist? Right now everything feels too generic, like a ripoff instead of a novel that happens to have a similar theme.
On the other side, it's still only chapter one, so I'll be waiting. :)
It's just beginning my friend, the interesting part in my novels always comes at the end, just like a delicious meal, it's cooked slowly so that when it's ready you choke on it.
The first volume is always an introduction to the story, lore, characters and what's to come.
The MC is unpleasant because of what you obviously saw, my MC's even if I have possible schizophrenia will always be pleasant, because if you don't like the MC of a story it's not worth following it.
Dude, everything is generic or cliché nowadays, what do you expect? something original? there you have sharknado as an example and look it only serves to be a mockery, what matters is that the story and its development is good, that generic is no longer useful nowadays, it only matters when you get soulless bodrios made with the dirtiest paws there are.
