Resolved Please help me find a fantasy manga (I don't think it isekai).

For the past two days I've been looking for a manga. There was this manga I read about a fantasy world where the northern kingdoms were always at war and this headmaster of a magic school travels north and finds a kid with lots of magical talent. The story is about the kid, an excellent swordsman, who grows into a teen and finally gets to attend magic school.

• The MC dad was a mercenary who was happy to send his son away so that the kid wouldn't grow up in that war torn north.
• The MC had a rather thick sword that was so heavy that the guards struggled to pick it up.
• The MC had to promise the headmaster that once he learned magic he wouldn't just head back north to wage more war.
• The MC was given a new identity upon arriving at the school in the southern lands so the educated southern people wouldn't bully him for being a barbaric northern person.
• MC was full of scars underneath his shirt.
• Because he started learning magic late, he was able to befriend the other underdogs in the school.
• A noble tries to bully MC for being bad at magic but later finds out the hard way that MC is a better swordsman.

Its extremely good. Its just one of those stories that have a lot of plot and not enough fanservice so there aren't enough people wanting to translate it. If it was more sexual or portrayed gore more often, then we'd see new chapters getting translated all the time.

Was it recent with few chaps or a lot ?
Also now i think about it, judging from the PLOT, and the 2024 aneiytzhntyozrhypirzhpthpzr annoying lack of TL of jp works, AND the ezjiptzehtpzertztpyz ultra shitty trend of "toxic nobles bullying a commoner" then i guess its a manhwa.

In this case, i cant help.
Why : Bc i stopped checking all this manhwas bc lately their quality changed from masterpieces to crappy works that could be surpassed by even a random nationalism CN in previous years. Even JP quality is worsening. I mean, to pick a good example, there is this manga of middle-aged megane guy being loved by bunch of sexy women/girls for what? being kind ?

But the guy is like a middle-aged dense that seems to have the denseness or scaredness of girls of a 3years old boy AND in recent chap was bullied by this fat noble (despite him being so strong that having his head&megane crushed to the ground he doesnt feel pain and even compared it to the punch of a bigmob that its nothing). Meanwhile he sucker up to "superior" that clearly hint at him to LET THE NOBLE RAPE the girls. MC follow the order. The 2 new girls are NEAR RAPED (SAOlvl of "near rape" but x100 worse, penetration was like 1s before entering, also one of the girl was retardedclueless she is going to be raped) but the dude bother to be chivalrous ("i let you punch first and i will punch after that") and ofc let other people come in without doing anything else beside his entry-kick-to-face to this fat evil noble.
I pick ANY recent cultivation CN : you will get 100000x better MC with more aggressiveness than this and more brains.
Also the girls are meh. Especially my-HEAVY-dislike for this bigTITS girl. Not bc of the big tits (praise this religion), but how her chara design and personality is just so MEH. I got big tits THAT ARE TOO BIG and BAD FORM FOR THEM, sleepy eyes, 0 strength at all, annoyingly trying to be seductress to old-man-MC, and her words are annoying-MCU-trying-to-be-funny&smart-despite-low-iq&usefulness&unfunny.

(there are exceptions for now, but lately manhwas are only good bc of the art, which btw, manhuas would surpass them in popularity if they had this artists and not a broken ultra bad reputation of being crap from previous years.

PS : even the steelguard manhwa that i thought was good turns out to be very-mid latest chaps, i mean => WHERE IS THE MC FROM THE BEGINNING that assassinated the rival noble bc he was shit and annoyed him ???? now dude is like : "i gonna waste 5chaps+ to fool the enemy nobles to sign a scam contract DESPITE HAVING MIND CONTROL SPELLS and i gonna fool this merchant company DESPITE BEING THE STRONGEST IN THE COUNTRY (or continent) AND MIND CONTROL SPELLS)

I don't remember Almark, but I remember a similar manga. I don't think it was isekai. Middle-aged man adopted a boy, both are mages, but magic is prosecuted. I think boy also studied swordsmanship. Boy gets into military\academy for mages. Middle-aged man had a friend in the military, while boy saved a noble's daughter. I think 'dad and son' also had a fall out because 'son' thought 'dad' is jealous of his talent. Now, the funny part is, I don't remember the title.

I made this thread not knowing that Almark translations had stopped for over a year. Less than a month after I made this thread, someone started translating chapters for it again. Whoever you are, thank you for listening; the world needs more fantasy manga that aren't isekai.
