When the sun rises above your head and the shade fades away, the key of the heart will appear and the thirteenth gate will be opened.

Don't be afraid of the Light. Darkness is not born out of Darkness. To those who are used to having their heart pierced...

Well, my phone brightness is set to battery killing highest but I am a dark mode user, even on my laptop and desktop. Light mode to me is straining my eyes, especially when both of them are hitting the record of 400 (halfway to be considered legally blind) while dark mode is killing me when I am outdoor busy staring at my phone instead of looking at the beautiful surrounding.

It is situational and not as though we are only light and dark

I prefer using black cuz not only do i nit bother my family while reading at night, it also hide the deep secrets inside what i contained innmy phone.

While I don't disrespect those who use light theme, I will list down the people who use it as to put a restrain-I mean just a little gesture for a friendly attitude.

I have a question for people who use a light theme instead of a black/grey one.
What made you use it?
Because I want to throw away my sanity.

Serious answer: While coding, it feels clean and organized. I only use light theme on code editor.

Just wanted to poke at people using judgmental language. It would be one thing if he said things like "I don't get it." Using a judgmental term though is something that, even if just for laughs, seems a little inappropriate as a conversation starter. Especially the way it was presented here.
But you could still tell from the topic at hand that this is definitely a joke. I mean, if one would unironically call the other a "psycho" for using light mode he's most likely one himself. If it's a topic about "why do you read harem" or "why do you support socialism" then yeah, you could definitely interpret this as inappropriate.

But on the topic of "using light mode" this just seems like overkill. Like a struck nerve, if you ask me.

I use the light-mode as well (not only here). It is more of a habit nowadays, as I have been using it since time immemorial. Whenever I switch to dark-mode, it feels strange and straining to my eyes. And I don't really feel the need to force myself to adapt to it.

I use light mode, cause the site always defaults to it when I turn java script off. I got a shitty mobile so all the java sucks up more battery than light mode does.

I only use light mode when I need to focus, which should be evident by the amount of work I get done everyday.

I also have the problem that I'm seeing afterimages from using dark mode (sometimes even while trying to read on there), no matter whether it's white letters on a black background or just a gray background. It also makes my eyes and head hurt as a gift at the side. I don't have the screen brightness of either my laptop or my phone that high though. Usually, it's somewhere in the middle for the laptop and pretty much one of the lowest settings for the phone because I find the higher settings unnecessary. It's bright enough to comfortably read everything but not too bright either.

On the topic of light/dark modes: I'm actually a bit pissed. Like, there's about a hundred thousand extensions to convert websites that use a default light mode into a dark mode one and those seem to work quite fine. But there is apparently not a single one to convert dark mode websites into one with light mode for people like me. It's really shitty because I honestly can't read on dark mode websites for extended periods of time so I now either have to enter reading mode (but that disables itself as soon as I click next chapter so I'll get a face full of dark mode again) or just ditch these websites altogether.
