Well, as the title already suggests, thanks to a free morning I’m currently on the lookout for something to read. Preferably hard(ish) sci-fi or urban fantasy—both very welcome with a decent dose of humour.

Absolute no-gos: smut, BL, GL, pure romance, upright p*rn, werewolves, classic fantasy, or stories along the lines of “he, she, it was just a normal boy, girl, indecisive blob—until they suddenly mutated into a superhero.”

If you think your story might be up my alley, just drop a link. No guarantees, but if I like what I read, you’ll at least get some brief feedback on what worked for me—and what didn’t.

The best Sci-Fi I've read recently was https://seekwebserial.wordpress.com/2024/10/18/0-1-0-hack/ , it's more on the hard side, though its not on Scribblehub sadly. Also it's 3 seperate main POVs with vastly different stories, so it takes several chapters to get a good "feel" for what the story is like. Very black mirrory

Based on your request for sci-fi/urban fantasy with a side of humor, I think you might enjoy Five Divine.
It’s a mix of high-tech and ancient mystery. No smut, no romance, and definitely no "sudden superhero mutation." Instead, it's a race against time involving an engineer with a high-tech suit, a sassy AI/robot (B34) that handles the logic (and the banter), and a protagonist caught in a cosmic conspiracy.
The story explores Yaol (soul energy) and ancient relics, but stays grounded in the adventure and the dynamic between the trio. Since you have a free morning, I'd love to hear your "brief feedback" on whether the humor and the tech-vibe hit the mark for you!

Nothing classic here, sry. No elves, wizards, orcs, or any of that. Did I mention it's gluten-free?

Normal... I wouldn't say indecisive... He kinda does have a superpower, but he doesn't know how to use it, it's not really that dramatic, and it doesn't even show up until chapter 56. Also it gets him into trouble. Also, others have more useful powers. Also MC's transformation is slow and only happens as he gets his ass handed to him in a happy meal box.
