I've been writing something different than most (I think), will it be as popular as the mainstream giants?

It's a story about child-parent (foster) in a fantasy world, and I use 3rd perspective. I'm currently in a slump since I hardly get any feedback, even though there are two warm reviews from my precious readers.

Just from the underlined sentence alone, how did you feel? Is there any interest sparking in your head, or just meh? Because I post that story here without realizing that scribblehub is more likely a website to put isekai/litrpg/harem/ecchi stories (no offense I like them also).

Should I continue or maybe . . . migrate to some other website? Or I just simply haven't done enough to see any fruit of my work?

Rome wasn't built in a day I would keep posting regularly. You will get an audience. Your story doesn't look like something that wouldn't do well. Sometimes it just takes time. write because you enjoy it, not because you want to see the numbers go up. If you do that, you are more likely to drop the story. People often forget that most stories take time to get the numbers they have, not many stories come out swinging with 1 million views and thousands of readers. Its a marathon, not a sprint. you also have to remember people like to bulk read so they wait until there are 50 or so chapters and read them all at once.

But if you're just writing for fun, who cares? If you really want genuine feedback, there are websites for that.

HOWEVER, Slice of Life anime are making a comeback, gauging the seasonal anime for the upcoming fall. So, who knows, keep writing, and you may pique some interest.

The easiest way to gain popularity is by advertising your story on Royalroad advertising.

The result is quite instant.

Sure, how long it will last directly depends on how much money youre willing to spend, and how long youre willing to keep advertising you story.

But even the cheapest ad still gives much more engagement than you would expect.

This is enough to want a longer synopsis before deciding to read more, but not enough to make someone (or at least ME) want to read more of the actual text as stated.

Hobby Answer:
It's an interesting idea, but I wouldn't read it from the underlined sentence. Not because I don't like it, but because it doesn't grab my interest enough that it would ever reach the top of my personal reading list. Clicking on the link and reading the synopsis makes the story much more intersting for me, and from that I would end up reading it eventually. I sounds interesting, and if the story is calling to you—then keep going.

Post on multiple sites (pressuming it's not against their rules). No reason to just post on one. Royal Road is a great choice, and it seems like your story would fit their average content, and might do very well there... but no need to leave Scribble Hub either.

Drop it and post on Royal Road as well as here.

Kindle Unlimited and Paetron are the stardard money making path on Royal Road. Sadly, at least from authors I've checked so far, Scribblehub readers are much less likely to support authors... unlike Roal Road where Patreon support is much more common. There are authors on Royal Road that make $50,000+ a MONTH from Patreon. Not many, but they are therre. Oh, and every indi author hoping to make writing their day job should read this post on RR by the author of "Defiance Of The Fall". He has 4,000+ paid Paetron members, and makes more money writing than 99.999% of the authors out there.

People have varied preferences.

Like me, I like a straightforward title when it comes to genres I liked less. But, when it's horror or mystery... Ohoho, I'll order a fancy name of course.

For example, one of the stories I have loved in my entire life is Emesis Blue. Not a novel, but you get my point. Then the entirety of SCP wiki, those redacted files are peaks of horror writings, ngl. Some are funky and downright hilarious and funny, but the others are exquisite.

SoL, I kinda like it. A laid-back genre to relax in. Being a cafe owner, managing stuff, having barely any regrets, living a life, walking down around peaceful scenery, less-to-none chaos, I love it. From SoL, I learned how to be human and how to think as one.
