Is this a good thing or a messed up thing to do?

So a woman who is a bad mother. She didn't care for her children. She abused her spouse and kids. She got bad habit: alcoholic, drug abuse, vain, wasting (money and food). She was unemployed and a entire problem for her family. She scarred her children mentally when they were young.

So her husband and kids (<11) decided to ask an illegal practitioner to brainwash her memory and personality. In a different sentence, they admit her to identity execution.

After a month of painful and traumatised experience which she fortunately would never remember, the mother returned home. The family told the woman that she was in an accident and had memory loss. They fabricated a story about what she used to be and what they did. She was a totally new and good woman and mother now. They lived happily ever after.

So is this a good thing? If the family is the main characters of the story, would you cheer for the father and kids as they called people to drag her to the brainwashing clinic?

This is going to heavily depend on the level of consent from the mother. If she had no knowledge of this and did not approve, I would say it's still not a good thing on principle, no matter the result.

IMO absolutely horrific.

What they did to her was worse than what she did to them, not that that was much better. All of them deserve to burn.

No consensus. She was dragged away against her will since she knew exactly what would happen and she was completely conscious the entire process.

Yeah, then my answer doesn't change. This is a similar thing to the classic "I'm going to force you to do what you don't want, for your own good". Might look reasonable from both sides afterwards, but it's still forceful manipulation on principle. There's a very thin line between this and torture.

It is a good messed up thing to do.

Especially on the standpoint of the husband and kids.

Absolutely fucked up.

But hey, where you stand is where you think about it. Is it legit to commit mindbreak for the "greater good"?

Also, this is a plotline to Dr Light getting lobotimised after raping one of the League member's wife.

There's plenty of solutions, but I can't seem to think of an answer other than this:

The mother must realize that she was a b**ch and should try rehabilitate herself, holding off those egos and fixing her relationship with her family.

Das the only one thing I can make out of my melting brain, I am in the middle of making an app rn :blob_no:
