It's easier for a girl to GET a boyfriend than the reverse. Maintaining relationships is a completely different story where I'd say it's roughly 50/50.

If we’re talking about desperate people who really really want someone in their lives right now, then it applies to both genders. I don’t know the statistics—you find out if you wanna know, it could be interesting—but every genders can be desperate.

Like I said, it depends on each person. I know a lot of guys think that girls have it easier than boys when it comes to getting a date, but I don’t really agree to that—well, not completely, anyway.

I know a lot of girls who don’t have a boyfriend. Some are very desperate, some aren’t. But then again, just like boys, those girls are quite inexperienced or maybe very religious.

So to answer your question, I have to repeat my words three times (important thing should be repeated three time, right?): “It depends on each person.”

I think if we just took an average in an environment where it's roughly 1:1 male to female ratio, females are more favored than men. Of course it's an average that hardly represents individuals. Probability wise, there must be girls that can't get a boyfriend no matter how hard they try.

And it's important to consider that not everyone thinks being single is bad. Some people don't want relationships for reason of commitment and such, applies for both men and women.

If we're using personal examples like you're doing then I'm sure everyone has met some sort of anomaly or "non-average" person. I know a few bi or pan girls that are perma single for reasons of appearance, personality, and other factors.

You know, objectively speaking, this is pointless. The question is really vague in the first place, so I could only give a vague answer, like: it depends on each person.

If we’re really serious about finding out a definite answer to this, then there sure to be a lot of different factors involved—cultures, religions, governments, common beliefs, laws, prejudices, etc.

That’s why I can’t give you a really factual and objective answer to this. If you really wanna know, I’m sure there are some research about this subject already.
