Is it common for people to see prostitutes?

In my case, it's not legal but people know where to look for them. It's not really hard to find. Skin trade here encourages a lot of human trafficking. A lot of cases though, when there's a bust and a raid is successfully done to get the women out, a lot of these women refuse to go. For them, it's their job and it pays well. For a full night's worth, they earn about $60 give or take.

Being a sex-worker for only a short amount of time to marry some rich/sexier client is still a dream in my opinion. Sounds like a fairy tale but it would be nice if it was reality. Selling your own body cant be nice even if you made your peace with it and enjoy it as much as possible in that situation.

I do agree that it sounds like a fairy tale, but it does happen AFAIK... There was even a movie based on a real story of this actually happening IIRC.

There's been the occasional aristocrat that's married their mistress - it can happen, but there's always the risk of being dumped and left with nothing. More often, it tended to be a 'make money while the money is good' sort of thing, and then invest in business and/or find a legit husband. Some prostitutes would end up opening brothels, and basically graduating from 'worker' to 'boss', as they obviously have the contacts and know the trade.
