Image in the comments

Hi! I think it would be nice to be able to post images in the comments.
I wanted to post a fan art I made, and instead had to copy an URL (which you can't even click on, you have to manually copy paste), so that feature would have been nice

Though, now that I think about it, something specifically for fanart would be nice. Maybe a separate page alongside Details/Glossary/Statistics?

Anyway, thanks for reading and hopefully considering this suggestion.

having an associated gallery on the title page would be nice, but ultimately, how many series will ever get any? would it be enough to justify a feature dedicated solely to them?

the reason you cant post links in the comments are related to spam and link management preventing fraud/potential harm to viewers. comments of chapters are so numerous that policing the links would be virtually impossible.

you can still post the fan-art to a dedicated thread in the appropriate section of the forum for people to view, but the main focus of the comments on the main site are the chapters of the story and peoples responses, not associated material that leads people away from the very thing they are there to read.

edit: imagine that you have limited data and you try to catch up on your favourite story, but the page loads to 5x its normal length, only the first bit is the story and the follow 4 portions are links and picture/meme responses that will be loaded alongside it, slowing the page down and eating your data. when currently you can read all the chapters you want, you could potentially find yourself unable to load more than a page or 2 before using up your data plan when pictures are allowed.

Mmh you do make very valid points. I'd like to point out that I never said I wanted links, I also thought it was on purpose to avoid ad spam or something like that. And I now agree with you that images in the comments probably isn't such a good idea.

But your solution to post it the forum is less than ideal. I personally would never go to the forum just on the off chance that someone posted fanart. I've looked at a few posts and the biggest I found had 10k views, but most have two or three hundred views, while a novel that has started 7 hours ago already has 70 views. The means I'm not the only one to rarely if at all, come to the forum.

Even though there might not be any fanart for 90% of the stories here, a gallery per story doesn't have any downside (except the work it gives the developer of course). So, not a priority, but I still think it would be nice

certainly, most don't use forums so I get the hesitation, I just know that's how people currently handle the subject out of the available options where hosting the image off site and linking isn't ideal/supported.

adding a gallery shouldn't increase the cost of eh title pages resource wise, it's just a matter of convincing the big bossess upstairs that its popular/ necessary enough to implement, I would hope more than 10% see some fanart, but not all stories will attract those kinds of readers :S a shame really. still a valid suggestion worth bring up.

as Inv said, we do have a glossary we could have share the space. besides how many stories do we actually see making use of that feature? or needing to? xD

I thought a glossary was a collection of difficult words. I see now that some have posted images of their characters. Then yeah, I guess it could be used for it.
