Here's a recent review:
This has a mishmash of classic Sprawlian cyberpunk, with a touch of CD Project Red/Edgerunners. Reads to me reminiscent of pulp monthly sci-fi rags, quick, concise story arcs, lots of action and ridiculousness.
I guess that's style, and partially story - the story is fast-paced and includes world -building appropriately scattered through each arc. This is soft sci-fi, but in the best of ways and with the author clearly putting work in behind the scenes so things aren't all handwavy and "unobtanium", but based on some hard sci-fi that's just not expositioned.
Grammar got a 4.5 from me, needs a brief stint with an editor for the odd misspellings here and there. Grammatically, easy to read/accessible, without any heinous, hard to parse sentences that I've noticed. Could probably do with an editor as well but it never interrupted the story as occasionally happens for me on RR.
Characters start feeling very one-dimensional, but as the story moves on more growth occurs and additional characters are added. Really excited for at least the next 3 arcs based on these first 5, for the characters alone.
All-in-all, this is a solid story and should be included, perhaps immediately afterwards, amongst the greats on RR. Highly recommend taking this out for a spin, chooms!
