I Have Two Stories at the Top of Trending and I Don't Know Why

Royal Road is pretty decent. It's barely a company at all (run by two people, no mods or any other assistance) and it's very much a passion project. I don't mind supporting them as they grow.

There are a few others. Neovel is run by two French guys. Still very small. Tapas I hear is decent, but their word processor irritates me to no end. Wattpad is a hot mess, but it did just get bought by Naver (owners of Web Toon) so maybe it'll shape up. And Scribble Hub is also an option, though the quality of work on there is questionable at best.

Ooh, just gotta put up Moonquill as a possible website, although cross-updating tends to be a pain.

This is not true. My novel gets around 1k min views a day, and peaks at 6k views with around 40 comments. Yet I havent made it to trending yet

is Tapas that site that only allows like 1k words per chapter? Or am I confusing them with someone else?

and you have no reviews boom get some reviews and you get on top of favorites

Neovel is a whole website dedicated to romance novels and some web novels like essence weaver which is literally a web novel on web novel

They're smaller. Neovel is very new. Tapas is focusing on its own niche (light novels). So it's not entirely surprising that you haven't heard of them.

I didn't say that. I said that the quality on here is questionable. And by that I mean that the average quality of the fiction on ScribbleHub would, at least in my opinion, generally rate as lower than on some other sites. At least for the stories that seem to be highly viewed/rated here.

Oh I agree. SH is very questionable in content quality-wise. The fact that utter crap is given 5-stars near constantly, and then when it stops and starts getting the lower ratings it actually deserves, the whiny-ass children show up in forums pissing and moaning about "trolls" and "toxic readers".

Needless to say, I avoid reviews and ratings. I just leave chapter comments if I like something.

Can confirm. I used to write crappy stories with clickbait cover and people give it 5 stars and 1k++ views on every updates. Smuthub is real.

Honestly, people keep saying its better here than in RR but I disagree. I prefer RR to be honest, but I do still like it here. SH just has a different style of "toxicity". I like the forums most of the time. I will be honest though, if RR had more active forums, I'd be there instead of here. Whereas RR has more fairly blunt and brutal reviewers, SH has a VASTLY LARGER amount of immaturity in its author population.

And quite a few people complain about its disapproval of queer/LGBTQ content....and so? I still see shitloads of it anyways on RR. Why do people still not understand that no one HAS TO ACCEPT YOU OR ANYTHING ABOUT YOU. Polite? Sure. But required? No. Blows my mind the entitlement.
