I have a story I want to write, judge it by title.

Sounds like "I need more info".

A title cannot sell me anything these days. A title and a cover? Perhaps by a long shot. Title, cover, and a blurb/synopsis? Maybe.

These days, I don't start reading without extensive prior research on the book in question, cause my backlog is already infinite and I need something to truly catch my interest (or be right up my alley) in order to bump it up the ladder.

You know what's the silver bullet? Word of mouth. Yes, we're back to that, thanks to the informational overload of the modern digital age. If a reading friend of mine recommended me something, chances are >75% that I'll read it. Especially because afterwards I will have at least one guaranteed person to discuss the story with.

This is so flawed with sexism, coming from a perspective narrowed by such strict cultural norms, that I don’t even know where to begin…:blob_no:
Or for true nonhuman perspective, consider female who does the deed, lays tens of thousands of eggs, and goes away. Tortoises make nests, lay eggs, go back to sea ... Although Patriarch in this case would have dam little to work with, if sex is merely copulation once!

As it says in the can, judge it.
The story title is: The Dragon Patriarch’s Compendium of Failed Matchmaking
Read it, and it did not hook me.

And no I will never admit that it was because of my inability to easily comprehend big words.

It sounds like an episodic novel where a dragon-turned human has a tryst with different ladies as he goes around exploring the world in human form... :blob_sir:
