This is a more pro/con question but have any of you had hyperfixations that helped or hindered you while writing or even reading a story?
I've had three persistence hyperfixations, which at times make it both easier and harder for me to complete a story.

You'd have to be more specific. I know that I'm on the autism spectrum, and while I have interests in some stuff considered autistically cliched, I'm not sure if I have anything that goes into the hyperfixation category.

Paranoia that I somehow messed up continuity. My memory tends to flake and I’ll have a good idea but then I’m like oh shoot I’ve already precluded this idea because of something I said before and I feel embarrassed to delete the older thing

I force myself to hyperfixate on writing all the time. If I do that t right I'll write way more then I meant to.

Have you stopped eating because you were fixated? For days?

No?

Then that is normal fixation, not hyperfixation.
