As much as I'd just love to do this is there are a few problems. The government is actively trying to kill my mc by any and every means possible. She ain't controlling shit out in the open unless she wants to have a visit from death and in a government and setting like this they is barely room for her to place proxies to run it for her.
One thing that is great about modern tech is that it can offer a lot of hiding places and ways, so that a wanted revolutionary can always mingle with the masses without the police knowing.

I know because I experienced it. (It also led me to deleting my first SH account. And I'm not even a revolutionary.)

I think I can go with the general route, but that would be tricky cause I want to make it obvious that the person that took over to be competent and provide for all the people that are in power to stop a revolt from their part.
Unless she's Naruto her talk no jutsu won't do shit to convince them.
I'll have to do something to ensure any form of rebellious act from the elites or for them to even give the thought the time of day.
Fake news, and bombarding the populace with it, works on your story. It's effective, especially if the general populace is so well-off, they don't tend to bother anymore.

My country is a prime example. The 15th president, while not perfect, worked hard and with all his best and honesty to improve our lives. However, politics and fake news, combined with the relative prosperous period for our countrymen, led them to believe the guy in power is not doing his part.

Hence, the incompetent, mysoginistic and murderous 16th President. Then after him, a useless 17th President.
As for the populace or religion, first the religious leaders and whatnot have no power over state, not exactly as important as it is in our world so that ain't happening.
This is impossible. While it is plausible that the religious leaders may have little to no direct powers over the state, they have soft power. Basically, they have influence on the more 'gullible' masses, and in some cases, even on some influential individuals in government.

Unless your population is 100% science-based, religious influence on the matters of state can't be ignored. And even then, there will be extremists in science community be founding pseudo-religions.

The people themselves won't drop their lively good and join the mc cause things are being led more or less the same so not much will change.

I think I can think of something for the money problem that they'd have a problem with.

This is a sci-fi world, propaganda started by sone mystery group wouldn't hold a candle or be given attention.
Sci-fi is also susceptible to propaganda, in the form of fake news.

Hmm, not 100% sure on all that you've said, but I'll give it some thought I'm still Ify on the fake news or my cast not visiting a morgue if they even attempt to get public notice or dip their tie in economics in any firm that's not from a backdoor.

As for the religion sorry I'm keeping it have next to no power, as unrealistic as it might sound to you I do not want to ever incorporate religion in any of my stories so I'll just some people still believe, but the old ways if being a fanatic for a religion died in the past. Now it's more of having faith in a specific religion.

As for the fake news making the ruler incompetent that won't make sense cause they could a done the same thing with which would both have to make the cast public figure by some measure, which would take the 6 feet under.

It won't work for my story cause if the society is profiting people would have little to actually complain about.

The kingdom has an elite force of ruthless op people almost completely loyal to the ruler, no body is messing with this unit.

Okay. Then you got asymmetrical warfare.
Fake your death
Change your appearance/fingerprints/DNA/Become a lich
Learn the True name of your enemies and turn them into puppets
Teleport explosives into the enemy's home.
Kidnap loved ones and other points of weakness.
Unleash memetic contagions that make people hate the current rulers.
Use time magic to leap ahead 200 years.
Level the playing field by starting a nuclear war.
Unleash a zombie plague
Redirect an orbital weapons platform to devastate the country.
Go to another country and present yourself as the pretext for invasion in exchange for being willing to be a puppet of their government.
Discover anti-magic and cover the world with it, causing the collapse of civilization.
Become a god. Either actually become one, or make everyone think you are god, or speak for god.
Dig up the previous ruler and bring him back from the dead.
Pretend to be the reincarnation of the old ruler and reclaim your throne.

Well, I'm just suggesting anyway. Not that I'm expecting you to follow it to the dot; it's still your story. You asked a question, I answered it.

Err...not to offend you, but you're underestimating the power of mass and social media.

It won't work for my story cause if the society is profiting people would have little to actually complain about.
You'd be surprised to find that people tend to complain on a lot of things, even if they are extremely well-off.

On this part, here's the thing: if you keep on maintaining a 'perfect' condition on your setting, you'd really have a hard time looking for a crack on the armor.

Even the 'ruthless' can have flaws. The Estasi, while having the reputation for being ruthless, still got outwitted by a few (then escaped across the Eastern German borders and into West).

Well, in any case, those are my suggestions. In the end, it's still your work, so you call the shots.

Idk m8 just watch like all of Gundam from Origins - to CCA will only take you a little over 3000 hours, or just Star Wars that works too.

All great ideas for me honestly really happy with the amount of level of thought you've put on this, not sure if I should respond to every point though so I'd give a few run downs.

For the magic bit there no tome skipping or necromancy or learning of Ture name. I don't know what kinda pulled out of the authors ass magic you've seen, but I don't roll that way.

As for kidnapping. That would mostly not work as the loved ones aren't exactly by standards they are elites too. They aren't gonna last long enough to actually kidnap them and just leave without causing a scene.

I can do the going to another country and becoming a proxy I was actually thinking that they'd just do favors for other nations which would actually come later as the problems of another nation doesn't have benefit for them they won't participate in pointless power struggle plus the princes is too proud to allow her country to be a puppy government.

As for the other stuff that that requires bombs or a zombie plague or what have you. Bruh! My cast don't have any means to do that shit. Magic doesn't mean random bullshit

Thanks for your answers I've gathered enough information from this thread to go along and do something with the series now, although I didn't get much out of it. The plans I was going for haven't derailed too far from the current course.
I was actually expecting to use a lot more from the answers from the thread.
Oh well
