How is the ranking decided in the trending section? I still can't understand that.

I've been observing it for a while, but when I had not-so-good stats (I'm not even sure what's good stat on this website) I was around rank 39 once, but the next day, I was gone.
I couldn't even find myself in the top hundred.
How does that work?

Wait, did I do that?! I was consecutively for two weeks in trending with my first story, without an idea why. What did I do?!!

Also, I though as well that my newer stories would get me there, as those had a decent fanbase and should make that jump. But it didn't work. Hard to see through the workings.

How does the trending ranking function work? is it being abused?

So i been curious about the trending ranking and how it works, as of right now the top novel is dungeon harem which is a 3.5 rated novel while the all the next ones are all 4 or 5 stars, i find it really bizarre while i dont read harem life but i checked it out and found out that the author...

I'm wondering other things about rankings.
I'm ranking for unbelievable crazy things I didn't set up, and I'm ranking on keywords I deleted weeks ago.

I saw on the top trending also, someone was ranking #1 for "Book"? "Book" doesn't even appear as a keyword option. WTH?

My guess is that trends are measured by statistics on views and favourites over a specific time period (whether daily, weekly, or monthly). Using SQL queries, this is entirely possible. I've experimented with trends of marketplace websites, and the formula is more or less the same. The implication is that if you're chasing trends, your novel must consistently increase the number of views and favourites by improving the quality of your content to ensure market acceptance.
