I have a historical fiction that is based around the Jack the ripper murders and follows accurate historical dates, events, and people but it does have magic so I used that as partial reasoning for any and all creative liberties. They also go back in time to the early 500s England and is based off of what little we know about that era, area, and culture. Actually about to physically publish the first volume at the end of the year. Why does some stuff have historical tag when it's fiction if the main plot isn't about a historical event (real life history) it's not historical or time period then it's not please if whoever has the historical tag wrongly placed on your story please get rid of it please
It requires at least some level of real historical events and time periods. If it's just a loosely based idea of what the time period looked like without any actual historical basis then it isn't a historical fiction.how do you count something as historical? I put that on my psuedo- medieval setting story because it's neither modern nor future in terms of time; if I need to remove a badly placed tag then oh well, but I'd like to know the criteria for what qualifies
