I am at the beginning of writing a litRPG story, and one of my characters is going to receive a title that makes him a lord, but he also has a soldier class. I am looking for a good fit for a single name, or couple of words, that combine the two. Samurai is similar to the idea, with the inheritable title making him both nobility and a leader in the military, but I am currently leaning towards a European version of nobility, with counts, dukes, duchesses, and other higher nobility titles. The main reason I am looking for something that combines these two is that, in my system, everyone has a separate class and profession, but if you gain a class and profession that are compatible, you can combine the two for something that is better than its parts. I have tentatively decided on "Calling" for the combination of the two, but I would appreciate any thoughts on that name as well.
Thanks in advance.

Imperial Knights.

According to Wikipedia, what separates a knight from an Imperial Knight is that there were granted 'Imperial Immediacy', meaning they were more or less EQUAL to: margraves, dukes, princes, counts, archbishops, bishops, abbots, etc.

Historically, European nobility were expected to contribute militarily, so what you really need is to figure out what a commoner to noble title might be.

A knight would be fitting for someone who is given a title of nobility but doesn't own much land or have much power.
