Green Tea Bitch refers to a bitch who pretends to be pure, innocent and kind but is actually vicious and evil. They're usually portrayed as antagonistic to the protagonist for a long time and usually gets their face slapped when the crisis is resolved. But this trope is often most annoying and Ai-chan hates it because a lot of time, it drags on so long and the scenes are so clownish. Like there is this chinese drama online where the green tea bitch makes a scene at the auction house and accused the protagonist of being a thief in high school. Ai-chan was like, "Bitch, are you still a kid? Nobody cares about what happens in your high school years. People just want to buy rare stuff. Leave your drama outside!"

What do you think about green tea bitches? Do you have a green tea bitch in your story? Do you, like Ai-chan, believes that they're often written in a way that is unrealistic?

On principle, I have nothing against such characters in a story. I have myself written a couple. I do agree though that a lot of stories portray them badly, either in an exaggerated manner or unrealistically in other ways. This is the same for virtually any other archetype though - be it saints, green tea bitches, or mentally unstable, only a minority of stories present them realistically, while the majority tends to be an amalgamation of generalizations and author's projections.

The green tea bitch, outside the obvious role as an antagonist, also has great potential for redemption as is fairly vague (even though seems to be usually encountered in a school setting), so that's a versatile piece of worldbuilding.

Alchemy of Souls (the Dragon Studios live one on Netflix at least) had two of them, and pulled it off fairly well. It is a trope that gets real old real fast though

If FMC is the green tea bitch, why not? I've read some novels like that and I liked them. But if the antagonist is the green tea bitch and she's winning against a Damsel in distress FMC, I'll.quickly drop the novel.
