Turns out the compliment was a scammer. I'm sorry to get your hopes up. I hate it when you get a compliment in your inbox, and it's a scammer. I've already blocked them.

Don't let that discourage you. I hate when these people do that, though.

I got my first real compliment on this platform and a follower!

I got so excited when I first received mine, though not in this platform. We talked about my story on discord. They guaranteed my success because my writing had 'soul' they were looking for. They said they would be gladly help my book to reach the right readers and increase my readership. I was pretty touched. Then they demanded $100 which I cannot afford. When I said my a$$ was broke, the amount went down from $100 to even $5. I was happy and was about to pay when my guiding angel asked me not to. I finally blocked the scammer.

I'm sorry but I find that hilarious. It reminds me of the seinfeld episode where George gets tied up and robbed by a woman only to find 8$ in his pocket and the woman takes his clothes.
