Getting Asked for a Manga for my book 1

So I have been quoted 1,000 dollars for Manga book by a few people I've spoken to. my readers who have finished book 1. Are asking for a Manga at some point down the road. I am just interested to see if there are Manga artists here and what your thoughts are.

they havent shown me work yet they just quoted 1,000 dollars I thought that was a bit much but a friend of mine said most charge 15k to 20k a book so I'll probably be waiting for awhile

You barely have a story up.
If they contacted you here, and took you off site to discuss this, then it is most likely a scam.
Don't give your money to anyone.
Especially, if they haven't shown you a real portfolio.
be wary about praise here, as sad as it is to say.

As others have said, "artists" offering you to make manga/comics/webtoons etc. of your story in comments or DMs on this site, are slop AI prompters at best, if not outright scammers.

If anyone praises your work as something incredible, especially without mentioning anything specific, only to follow it with such an offer and/or asking you to speak through another platform, ignore and report them, they are never genuine artists.

actually my book is on amazon right now i just cant post the rest of it here till after 90 days or Id have it completely added here. But ya any praise I was given here was all AI garbage. I appreciate you looking out for sure.

Alright.
Just stay reputable and always ditch anyone that doesn't bring a portfolio to the discussion.
There are tons of people here that could probably recommend real individuals to help.
If no one knows the people, then take that as a red flag.
Better safe than sorry.

for sure thank you. Yes even some of the portfolios previous people have shown me on other platforms were stolen work. So finding where to really go is like a needle in a haystack its feeling like

Patience, research, and community.
Those things will mitigate scammers.
People in the same boat will tell you if things are sketchy, so ask as much as you want.
The community will also know where you can get artwork done, even if it's not for only a 1000$.
I'd be skeptical as the others say.
Especially of anyone using the name Natalie, that seems to be a go to name for scammers.
Lots of people here have used reputable artists though and they'd be able to help in the art section in the forum.

Then, thumbnail the comic pages while considering panel and page flow, and word balloon placement.
Design characters and make a character sheet to make sure their design stays consistent.

Then, they must pencil and ink the pages, which could take 16 hours of work per page. This depends on the complexity and detail.
Then, spend time coloring it if you want it in color.
Also, they would have to letter it.

$20 per page if it is a 50-page oneshot is really low.
