Do you listen to voice actors to decide who would be a good fit for your characters?

Wut m8, I'm so bad I even know which celebrity actors should play my characters whenever the movie of one of my novels gets made. ?

Not intentionally but occasionally I hear one who seems like a perfect match.

No, not celebrities who use their own voice. I’m talking about the folks who actually care…ish. Like the folks who voice video games and anime and some cartoons.

I don't actively do it, but I sometimes hear a random voice on TV and say: "That's [character name]. I must have them."

Tbf I don't really think of that often. I usually make up the voices for them on my head which are sometimes ripped off from other shows.

First of all, if we're talking about EN VA, no way, that's fucking disgusting. A fandub has more talent than all of them, and they also speak horribly.

I would only choose Japanese voices for my works because it's anime style. Any other voice would have to have at least as much talent as Rivaille/Levi's voice in order to voice my characters.

that... doesn't make any sense for a voice actor to dictate the character you made. That is unless you have an epitome of a blank slate character, then... well, sure, go ahead

Actively? No.
If I had to choose right now, I'll have to do a quick search online to know who voiced who.
Except for Norio Wakamoto who should totally voice the cute slime familiar. That would of course lead to a legal obligation to add more speaking lines so every episode is graced with his grand monologues.
Emiri Kato voicing Philia. This is because the former voiced Kyubey and like Kyubey, Philia is a psychopathic heartless monster wrapped in an unassuming exterior. Both are also with the MC gang. I would pressure the animation team to cram as much subliminal kybey imagery whenever the resident Hannibal Lecter character is taking up the scene.

No

But I do hear many different voices in my head.

Does that count?

I'm thinking of doing drawings and making a you-tube series out of some of my stories once my sketch arts gets good enough. But I would voice it myself mostly with some technological assistance.

Naww, I just imagine Gilbert Gottfried is narrating my text. If I can still take it seriously, it stays
