Constant ad pop-ups

I've been receiving near constant ad pop-ups while reading, roughly one every two minutes today, Sunday July 23 2023, on my phone, android Motorola one 5g ace. For the record the screenshot shown is ad #9 out of 11. They are small ads at base of the screen with a small x near the page up arrow meaning I often hit the arrow and lose my spot instead of closing the ad.
