Hi, I am a newbie writer and it is pretty much my first time posting my story online.

I have been wondering how many chapters do I need to release, or post like in a week to keep my story interesting?

I already have a few chapters ready like around 10 ish unpublished.

But am not sure if I should post everything in one go to quicken the pace and sacrifice the upper hand of me not worrying about what to write next, or keep releasing few chapters every week to edge things out ?

Tldr: what good amount of chapters to release weekly?

Just do whatever. In the end, it doesn't mean you get a huge following and if you don't have a long ass story, publishing daily won't do you any good.
Also, if you are just starting, concentrate on quality, not quantity.

On serious notes: release 20 chapters together in the beginning, then you can release 3/4 chapters weekly
Hmmm, actually, I might consider that but I need to review the quality first to be sure . Thanks!

The sweet spot seems to be 3 a week for casually publishing. If you want a train of followers, daily.

Ooooh ok ok. Daily release seems rough tho but at the same time, tempting. For now, I will be casual :blob_hide: Ty!

Okie. Thank you for the tip! Yeah... I may not do daily publishing for now. It seems hardcore for a pretty much casual writer :blob_evil_two:. I will try my best to quality check my stuff~

I've heard that 50 chapters is basically the minimum for general reader interest, so you might want to wait until you have a huge backlog. That'll also let you fine tune the quality, and won't make it troublesome if you realize you need to make big changes.

LiteraryWho is pretty spot on. The larger your backlog the better. If you go for a short story, quality is everything, second is advertising. Especially if you don't have a following yet. Figure out what group you want to pander to and make sure it's up to their standards. If you want to do long stories shoot for at least 250k word backlog, minimum. That gives you lots of leeway if you like to procrastinate and/or like finding excuses to do other shit. I personally am like that. My last story i set a backlog of 300k words. It finally let me take my lovely time to do whatever and write.

One chapter a day until you reach 50 which is were most veteran readers actually pick up stories. After reaching 50 I recommend at the very least 3 chapters a week I recommend 5. If it’s your first story don’t be too upset if it isn’t as successful as you think. Write for you if it takes off great is it doesn’t then at least you were always writing for you. Good luck. 🍀
