Dave Lister (Red Dwarf)
Cat (Also Red Dwarf)
Can't recall the character's name or series but there was an anime with a "healer" who had a bunch of potions that USUALLY healed the subject, but almost always with side effects - that were sometimes worse than the injury. That character.
Pilot (FarScape - so they would have to be in a Living Ship as Pilot is a symbiote but still... :D)
Jon-Tom the Spellsinger
Depending on tone, you probably want at least ONE of the following: A "Damsel" (a character who serves no real purpose other than possibly eye candy and accidentally getting others in trouble - note that the "damsel" in this case does not have to be female - I would argue Gilligan of "Gillgan's Island" fills this role, for example), a Sage (this could be just a wise old advisor, an actual magician of some sort or someone like, well, The Professor of "Gilligan's Island"), a Fighter/Warrior/Guardian (though this can often be one of the other characters as well) and a Tourist/Witness (who will probably be the "reader stand-in" a lot of the time).
Note that some of these roles can easily be combined - if you look to, say classic Star Trek - you have Captain Kirk who covers Fighter, Captain and sometimes Navigator. Mr. Spock who is the First Mate but also the Sage and sometimes a Fighter. Doctor McCoy who is the Medic and occasionally a Sage. Scotty who is absolutely a Sage but able to Fight and Navigate, and Uhura who is the "Musician" here but also a Sage and Navigator on rare occasions, and a mostly rotating support cast who double up or add roles as the story needs.
