Is it drinkable?

Specifically can vampires drink it?

Many universes have different approach to animal blood as a source of sustenance.
Yet animal blood comes from living creatures. This one comes from lab/factory.

In a way Vampires and Succubi are similar in that they both drain life force from humans just use different liquid as a medium.
So will this artificial blood be like tofu chicken for normal human?
You gain some nutritional value but are not satisfied and it does not taste right.
Or it will be as if Succubi tried to eat lube?
No nutritional value, bad taste and potential diarrhea or other health problems.

How does it compare to animal blood? Will it be more like mammal blood or reptile blood?

Depends on why vampires drink blood. If it's about draining life force from the victim, then blood is just the medium, and artificial blood that was never a living being's blood won't work. If it's a curse, then depending on the specifics it might work to trick it. If it's normal food stuffs, then it should work just as normal human blood. Maybe not as tasty though. Or maybe more tasty, without other gunk being in there.

The real question is, can humans drink it?

Short answer is that human anatomy is not adjusted to drink large amounts of blood.
If you eat rare steak you are ok. If you drink it to gain nourishment you can die in dozen of different ways.

I think the main problem arises when the blood cells themselves and their alternative are not the means of nourishment. Then you have to find a way to fill it with the right substances.
To infuse artificial blood into human beings, in order to avoid death from its loss, and to force them to eat well, if nutrition concerns only substances secreted by the human stomach. Or find a magic stone of life, filling this blood with vital energy.

Most stories have artificial blood stale and unappetizing to vampires, similar to animal blood. This is gonna depend largely on the kind of story - whether it's high fantasy or something more realistic. Fantasy stories often have vampires devour life force carried by blood more than the liquid itself.

Did it work though? Last time I checked the pig heart was moot.

Though it was a decade ago the last time I check, so I am unsure.

Quick google and it shows that no long organ life though. It feels more like a band aid than an actual cure.
