For a site like ours, a simple cover made using Canva or anything works very well. I would say going for a pleasant and warm look has its charms

Look, since you did have access to my Thread, I would have appreciated you actually taking a look at it, instead of sliding into my DMs and asking weird questions about me "helping with your art" or drawing characters for you. If you desperately want a drawn character on your cover, I don't know what to tell you. My Thread clearly states that I do not draw and what my covers look like.
Especially since I don't know what you believe you are asking for. A character is not the same as a cover, and someone who can draw doesn't necessarily know how to create a cover either. A cover is more than an image with a motivational quote on it, but maybe I'm just a bit touchy when it comes to that topic. Either way, you have been given advice and options, but you don't seem to understand them at all, which makes me worried about whatever you are trying to write in the first place.

No worries, I don't usually mind at all. I was just confused, because it seemed he knew the thread at first, but then I wasn't so sure, since his request was so weird and not at all as if he knew what I offered.

Professional publication is like taking that story, making it look fancy, and sharing it with the whole wide world so people you don't even know can read it.

I'm not sure if you meant to post this answer in this thread. In case you want to repost it where it was meant to be.
On another note: I wouldn't say a professional publication means that you post it online. Nowadays, everyone and their grandmother can publish online, for the whole world to see. I'd say there are quite a lot of people on this very platform who can't be charged with the offense of being "professional". I'd go as far as to say that a professional publication only starts once you actually earn money from it, beyond donations.
That does not mean that people don't take their work seriously - I wouldn't say I'm not being very serious about the quality of my SH Webnovels either - but if at all, outside of publishing via an official publisher, it would need to be self-published in some way, shape, or form, for me to call it "professional". That's also when it becomes official overall, with an ISBN and people view it differently.
