Since the season pass promised 3 DLC, they had to release all 3 before they could call it quits or else they owed all the season pass buyers a refund.

During the early phases of a game or franchise, there are always focus groups that give their opinion, but since the game is being made in California (most likely in the Silicon Valley), you can expect all the people participating to be of a one-track mind. Those focus groups are failing to represent the larger audience.

Focus groups often require random selection of a population amongst their customers. It'd be stupid to have a focus group from people who don't play games.

They do try to select a diverse group. The people in it will be of different races, ages, economic statuses, etc., but they'll still all be Cali liberals, a political group so radicalized that they sometimes manage to scare off left-wingers from other states. Kind of like how Arkansas right-wingers tend to scare off conservatives from other states.

Random selection is a sample that should represent the percentage of demographics of a the customer base.

Diverse group is often not random selection and doesn't represent the actual group base.
