@TheKillingAlice :
all in fun. we're even.
by the way... I'm particularly jealous of your *animated* spoiler text
its pretty cool.
I thought so. I actually only replied because I generally thought well of you, otherwise, I wouldn't have given a flying shit. :blob_cookie:
I actually like these GIFs. And I'm so sad I have to hide them.
Have a cookie. 🍪

i know, ain't this a f*cking kick?
I feel like a little kid again, I got my secret decoder ring out. I have to read the secret message sent back to me.
I'm like.. a spy and shit. this is so fun...

the novels are english only, that's a rule.
But... I have *definitely* seen foreign google-translated posts used, for humor before.
which is what this is.

I am going by precedent.

oh, bad move.
you're not allowed to do *anything* with AI, or... the cool kids will all make fun of you.
be careful.
LMAO.
but yeah, I had fun with AI - translate.
sue me.
It is, in fact, against rules to use languages other than English on this forum.
Being flippant about it doesn't mean you can do it.

When did you change your signature?
I just clicked. and clicked...and clicked...
ten deep? christ almighty.
@Enkiari
sorry. I saw someone once post strings of asian text, being humorous.
my bad.

@TheKillingAlice
well, that settled that.
turns out, the germans were right. good call.

animations.
i use GIMP, though the strategy would be identical i think.
I first need a text image
then... if i make multiple "layers"...
and delete an increasing amount of the text image that was copied onto each layer...
then play it back (in reverse order) in GIF... that makes a basic "two year old child" first animation?
then I can start to add other stuff, like, a fire layer or something cool.
or do I not have the right idea to basic animations.

Ah, GIMP... my mortal enemy. I don't know why, but sometimes I look at applications and I instantly close them, because my mind blocks. I just can't deal with them; it doesn't even mean that it's complicated, it's just that my brain logs out and refuses to comply in order to deal with it.
I think I started back with Photoshop Elments 9, from two decades ago, which had been outdated even more than 10 years ago and now I'm using Adobe CC. I can't tell you how to do Animations on GIMP, since I've never even tried.
But back in the day, people told me GIMP was the shit and it could do the same things that Photoshop could. Isn't there an option for a window to view your animation or anything like that? When you input your layers as a stack, depending on how you labeled them, it will start with the first and thus, it reverses your animation, so you have to reverse it in turn. If that is what you mean.
Technically, it really is that easy - you input all the layers, put them in the right order, with the right amount of adjustments and then you just have to save it under the correct file. But I use the most convoluted method known to men in order to create GIF animations - I create actual fucking animations in After Effects, then I render it as a stack of images and load them as script into a new Photoshop file, adjust the time and check the flow, then export the finished product as a GIF.

your complaining sounds very familiar. I looked into adobe and photoshop and all that... I couldn't make fuck-all out of it, LMAO
this wouldn't be so funny, but i used to be a software engineer.
Seriously! I once, for f-U-N... decided I was going to make my OWN compression algorithm.
programmer, so...
I read in every pixel and saved the color values.
my file size? same as JPG size. DUH! I'm doing same thing.
then I started deciding... what can I get rid of, but, keep the exact same pixels when I read back in.
I ended up? with the EXACT same file size as *modern* compression algorithms.

so.
you would think with those credentials, I could just use any software, right?
WRONG!
adobe and photoshop, I sit there and stare at the screen, LMAO
GIMP... I was able to load in a picture, and save it in another format? Yay!
over time, fooling around at random... yeah, I figured out how to do a few things.
I'm still on gimp 2.8 and I think 3.2 is the new one. I need an upgrade. new stuff to play with, lol.

but yeah.
on descriptions? same thing.
I can take a text image. (text to image... say... frost (ice) on the text. looks cool)
next... I can define 10 or even 100 layers of the same image
I can go through, and "delete" a bit more of each one...
then play them back in order, or in reverse order.
then save that stack as a gif, and assign timing to it (how fast)

but yeah, next time i'm bored... i'll have to try that.

PS - I have one cool image program I made.
you "select" whatever image (file) you want to work with...
then...
it inflates it or deflates it until it just fits the screen size.
AND...
the left over space, on the sides or the top/bottom...
it copies the last "line" of pixels over and over until it hits the edge of the screen
kind of an "automatic" background.
freaked me out, the colors smearing, made it 'fit'.

the other program i liked... I can add "meme text" to any image.

That's such a cool job though. :blob_cookie:
And yes, I know, I'm currently working IT Support. Not as cool as yours, but similarly embarassing.

And yes, that is basically what you have to do. It's the super tedious way of making a GIF; I guess it's the original way, but I wouldn't know that, I just figured my own way out for myself.
The reason why I misuse After Effects is because even as it sounds convoluted and you do have to adjust things, it's actually easy (though you can make it even easier with this method I decribed, when you render it directly as a video and load that into Photoshop, but it depends on the GIF and how it is made or if you have to make adjustments). Comparatively easy I mean, because I'm a lazy asshole and I really don't want to spend my worthless lifetime on even less worthy menial work like adjusting x amount of layers if it could be so much easier. It's more intuitive to actually make a video for most more complex animations.
Work smart, not hard.

That sounds actually super fun. :blob_cookie:

I wont lie. use the right pronouns on my career.
WAS and WERE, lol.
I don't know what the fuck happened.
I was on top of my game... shit was really cool, sure...
I took a few years off between head-hunter jobs... I wanted to do the "property/apartment thing"
next thing i knew, I had a few properties fixed up and running... went to go back to work, and...
and... my career went... right down the toilet. *flush*

shit was great for a few minutes there though, you know? lol.

hey. live and learn.
if you're on top of stuff?
don't get off of it, i guess.
I hopped off the ride, and never got back on.
not where I was, anyways.

But it sounds like you're settled for life, if you have multiple properties or were they someone else's?
If you're good, just start over. You got the time.

I'll get by, yeah. It'll just never be like it was
remember i said it...

if you're riding the carousel? don't jump off and assume you'll just hop back on.
you might get your hobby horse back, then again, you might not.
