Going with a more 'normal sounding' nom de guerre might be a good idea, but my family is hardcore Mormon and I really don't want them to notice that I usually put at least one decent sex scene in my books. The problem is my real name is literally the most common name in America :P Heck, there's even a law of misfortune named after me, and if you consider the fact that my name is alliterative, I am betting you are smart enough to figure out exactly what my name is :P

Please allow me to introduce myself, I am a man of wealth and taste. Pleased to meet you.

That is far too easy to get around.
-- Generate a name the same way one does in the SCA. Dig out the Baby Books for a first name by their Meaning, and go hunting on the heritage sites for a family name that Represents You, but is dissimilar enough from your own name. It would take 30 minutes tops.

Oh, so you're of Irish decent!

Quick shot in Google for an alternate family name, just to skim the surface:
-- MacMurphy, Morphy, O'Morchoe, O'Murphy, Ó Murchú, Murphey, Murpy, Murphree.

Gaelic Origin:
The name --- is an Anglicized version of the Gaelic names Ó Murchadha (descendant of Murchadh) and Mac Murchadha.
Meaning:
"Murchadh" itself is derived from the words "muir" (sea) and "cath" (battle or sea-warrior), hence the meaning "sea warrior".

Personally, I would choose "Muir" (sea) as a Last name.

For first names:
Finley: A unisex Scottish Gaelic name meaning “white warrior.”
Oisin: He was a well-known warrior and demigod in Irish mythology.
Tadhg: Irish name meaning “poet” or “philosopher.”

For more options, Google is your friend.

Very nice to meet you.
-- You and I have far too much in common.

Yep, except the dealbreaker is, I absolutely despise most anime and the vast majority of tropes. I think they are trite, childish, and absolutely terrible writing, even the best of them by 'legendary Japanese Filmmakers'. It saddens me enormously to see otherwise decent writers give in to the dark evil that is Naruto fanfic, cookies or not. It's just some dude who doesn't know how to run. (I forgive Ghost in the Shell, Akira, Robotech, and Speed Racer because they kind of invented the tropes) (I am only half joking)

Then again, a lot of people say the same about me when they catch me dipping into the eclectic nightmare that is Chinese internal Alchemy and cultivation for inspiration about magic systems. 'soul space' is just a deeply easy concept to throw almost any magical idea into and have it come out looking polished like pennies in a dead zoo seal's stomach.

Honestly, When I write romantic or sexy themes, I much prefer period drama tropes mixed with Western themes (both European and 'draw pardner' Western) mostly because there are a few things that are absolutely typical for Western... ahem... splooshing that a lot of cultures don't particularly care for. Or as my old petty officer used to say before liberty in a foreign port, 'keep the damned lights on, and if it's too nasty put your tongue in, why would you put your ****?' Hentai especially is like... all the worst parts of anime, plus some flash mob rape, childlike groping, AND bad tropes.

Maybe too much RL experience wrecks good smut. I know it destroys porn.
