Ive had this idea rattleing around in the back of my mind for about two weeks now. Basic idea is this person reincarnates in marvel (MCU + X-Men) gains system that gives them powers based on whatever game they have running through the system. They have three game modes normal/console, full dive/full immersion, and full dive hardcore meaning if you die in this mode without a revival item you're dead. System currency is divided into tokens and gems with tokens being bronze, silver and gold converting at a 1 to 10 ratio and being used to spin a wheel to aquire more games a spin being 1 bronze adding filters multiplies the cost by 10 for each filter added. Tokens would be gained by reaching certain milestones or gaining achievements in the games gems would be gained through real world milestones and completing games. Gems would be used to purchase mods for acquired games and other things. Items could be exported from the games at a ratio depending on gamemode 1/1000 for normal 1/100 for FD 1/10 for hardcore. MC would start with a survival/crafting game like subnautica minecraft or scrapmechanic sometime before the battle of new york.

There is a difference between putting together a halfway decent character sheet and writing a story. Its why authors have my respect because they can communicate the worlds they see in their imagination in a way that most of us can enjoy.

It sounds kind of like you could work well with a partner, kind of the way Chris Claremont and John Byrne did (they developed comic books by creating scenes, usually together, though sometimes either Claremont would write one out or Byrne would draw something alone that the other was inspired by) and then puzzled out how to connect them later.

(Edited to correct error)

You're probably not wrong I can theory craft and sketch out plotlines and powersets pretty well but if we're talking setting or character descriptions and dialogue my brain locks up to the point where if a telepath were to look in my head all they would see is the loading circle of death

Just write it anyway. I'll review it if you do. Cuz I agree with Aadar over there; the idea sounds very interesting.

...And now my brain starts spiraling and adding in more ideas, lol:

The guy has no face, no gender, no prominent or unique features of any kind. They're a player, so they literally just look like a default humanoid figure. With no past. The first reaction they have to waking up is confusion, but also an eery scripted calm, the calm that a game character has inside a game. Because not only do they have no facial features and appearence, they also have no memories.

Things are blurry and vague. They know they are human. They know how to eat, sleep, walk. And they have a very strong feeling in the back of their head that keeps repeating to them that they are dead, but they don't recall anything specific outside of the games they're playing.

But good news! As they use the tokens to unlock more stuff, memories start coming back. When they play the first game, they recall when they played the game as a kid, with their friends, and they now remember what life was like at that age. When they play the next game, they recall life when they're a little older. And it keeps going up and up, until they finally remember what they did, why they died, and why they're there to begin with.

Edit: Nevermind, I didn't see the 'reincarnates in Marvel/XMen' part. Ignore me, lol. Oops.
